Appetizers and soups:

  • Bread  pakora:


 Awesome appetizer.It can be given before light luch or dinner.


  • Firm bread-4 slices,
  • Besan(gram-flour)-1 cup,
  • Water-1/2 cup
  • rice flour-1/2 tablespoon,
  • Salt-1 teaspoon,
  • Chopped green chillies-2,
  • Cilantro-As you need,
  • Oil-to fry.


Take 4 slices of firm bread and cut the crusts.Add Besan,salt,riceflour,cilantro,chopped green chillies and finally water.Heat the oil in a pan or kadai and make sure there is more than 1 inch of oil.To know whether the oil is hot enough, drop a small ball of the batter and the ball should get fried immediately.Then apply batter in  bread slices and fry.It will take some time to fry.Fry it in small batches.Your delicious bread pakora is ready.Serve hot with chutney or ketchup.

Masala Mushrooms                                  





  • 1kg whole fresh mushrooms,
  •  1 large onion, sliced
  • 3/4 cup olive or vegetable oil,     
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced,
  •  1/2 teaspoon salt ,
  •  1/4 teaspoon ground mustard ,
  •  Pepper-to taste



In a container,first add mushrooms after cleaning them.Then add onions (sliced).Do not  cut the onions too small.Add garlic cloves and ground mustard.If you need you can either add chili or pepper or chili powder.Add the rest of the ingredients.Garnish with cilantro leaves.For a sour tase add lemon juice.
SERVING SUGGESTION:Serve with whipped cream.
French Fries
A yummy snack,made easy.
  • Medium potatoes-2
  • Oil to deep fry
  • salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste



 Method:Take 2 medium potatoes and peel the skin.Now cut the edges ,that is the rounded parts of the potato and cut it in slices in the thickness you want.Now take the  slices and  cut it further in shape of the fries.Now take a vessel and add the potato which was cut earlier and add water.Now boil them 60%-70%.Do not  boil very much.Your potatoes must be strong yet boiled and soft.Now heat the oil and make it very hot.Now drop the potato slowly in batches and let it be golden brown.Now add pepper and salt to it and serve with sauce.

TOMATO SOUP:EASY WAY                
This is easiest soup you can ever imagine!

  • Tomatoes-4
  • Onion-1
  • Chilliies-2-3
  • Salt-As required
  • Pepper-As required
  • Ketchup-If needed 1-2 tbsp

Method:Heat the oil in the kadai and add onions.Keep the heat on medium.Wait till the onions are golden brown.Now blend together tomatoes,salt and pepper.Transfer the paste made to the kadai and mix well.Let it boil.Stir it in constant intervals.Add ketchup if you want to have sweet taste to your soup.As the soup starts to leave a mark in the side of the kadai,transfer to the serving bowl. Garnish with sponge balls and cilantro.
Cheese bonanza. 
Original recipe yield: 6 servings


  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups fresh sliced mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup dates, pitted and chopped ,
  • Raisins-As you need(optional)
  • 1 (8 ounce) wheel Brie cheese (in India,we use also other types of chesse.)


In a medium pan over medium heat, melt butter and caramelize onions and mushrooms; Stir well.Now you'll experience the aroma of the butter .Add  dates and raisins and warm mixture for about 2 minutes. Slice the Brie wheel in half down the center so that there is a top and a bottom; fill with the onion mixture. Replace the top of the Brie. Microwave the cheese for 1 to 3 minutes or until bubbly; serve.

NOTE:Raisins added only for sweet taste.It is optional.
